Our Approach to Fillers

Facial assessment before syringe count.

Dermal fillers are injectable products used to restore volume, support facial structure, soften selected lines and improve proportion. At El Segundo, the goal is not to use the most product. It is to understand the anatomy first and recommend enough product to create the result you actually want without making the face look generic or overfilled.

01

Start with anatomy

Bone structure, soft tissue, asymmetry, skin quality and movement patterns are evaluated before deciding where filler belongs.

02

Choose the product for the area

Soft lip products, flexible gels and firmer structural fillers behave differently. Product selection should follow the treatment goal.

03

Set expectations before injecting

Your provider should explain the recommended amount, what a conservative result looks like, and what may require more than one syringe.

04

Follow up on the result

Filler treatments include a complimentary follow-up within 21 days so the result can be assessed after initial swelling settles.

Lip Fillers · El Segundo

Lip augmentation with product choice built around your lips

Volume, border definition, symmetry and hydration can require different filler characteristics. The provider selects the product after assessing your anatomy and desired degree of change.

Prefer to start conservatively?

The source page offers a 30-day syringe-hold option for eligible patients who do not want to use the full syringe at the first visit. Ask the team to confirm the current policy and product eligibility before treatment.

Under Eye Filler · El Segundo

Tear troughs require conservative judgment

Structural hollowing between the lower eyelid and cheek can create shadowing that makes the eyes appear tired. In selected candidates, filler can soften that transition.

Under-eye treatment is not appropriate for every dark-circle concern. Pigmentation, fluid retention, skin laxity and anatomy can make another treatment a better choice. Product selection and whether filler should be used at all are determined after examination.

The source page lists Restylane® Refyne, JUVÉDERM® Volbella® XC and Restylane® Silk among products used by the practice depending on anatomy. Some under-eye uses may be off-label depending on the specific product.

Other Filler Concerns

Lines, folds, temples, hands and selected contour treatments

The same product should not be used automatically everywhere. Area, depth, movement and risk profile all affect the plan.

Nasolabial Folds

The lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. They deepen as the midface loses volume and descends. Treated with mid-viscosity HA filler placed alongside the fold and/or in the midface to lift the overlying tissue.

Restylane® Refyne · Restylane® Defyne · JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC

Marionette Lines

Lines that run downward from the corners of the mouth. Often contribute to a sad or stern resting expression. Filler here softens the descent and restores the corner of the mouth to a more neutral or slightly upturned position.

Restylane® Defyne · JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC · Radiesse®

Perioral Lines (Lip Lines)

Vertical fine lines around the mouth from repeated movement and collagen loss. Treated with fine-particle, low-viscosity products placed superficially to smooth the surface without adding visible bulk.

JUVÉDERM® Volbella® XC · Restylane® Silk · Restylane® Refyne

Temple Hollowing

Loss of volume in the temples creates a skeletal appearance and contributes to brow descent. Restoring temple volume provides a subtle lift to the outer brow and softens the overall facial silhouette.

Restylane® Lyft · JUVÉDERM® Voluma® XC · Radiesse®

Hand Rejuvenation

Volume loss in the hands causes veins, tendons, and bones to become more prominent — a common giveaway of aging that does not match a refreshed face. Restylane® Lyft is FDA-approved specifically for hand augmentation.

Restylane® Lyft (FDA approved for hands) · Radiesse®

Liquid Nose Job (Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty)

Selected nasal contour concerns can sometimes be addressed with filler rather than surgery. Because the nose is a high-risk vascular treatment area, candidacy and anatomy must be evaluated carefully. Filler cannot make the nose smaller and is not a substitute for surgical rhinoplasty.

Biostimulators & Long-Term Structural Options

Sculptra®, Radiesse® and Bellafill®

These products behave differently from standard reversible hyaluronic-acid fillers. Candidacy and expectations should be discussed carefully before treatment.

Sculptra®

$695Reg. $875 · Per vial on the source page

Poly-L-lactic acid collagen stimulator used for gradual restoration rather than immediate HA-style filling. The source page describes typical facial protocols as a series rather than a one-visit result.

Body applications may be off-label and require separate discussion of volume needs, cost and expected outcomes.

Sculptra cannot be reversed with hyaluronidase.

Radiesse®

$640Reg. $800 · Per syringe on the source page

Calcium hydroxylapatite filler that provides immediate structural volume and also stimulates collagen. Commonly discussed for jawline, chin, cheeks, folds and hand rejuvenation.

Some diluted or hyperdilute applications are off-label and should be discussed as such.

Radiesse is not dissolved with hyaluronidase.

Bellafill®

$765Reg. $900 · Per syringe on the source page

PMMA/collagen filler with FDA-approved indications that include nasolabial folds and certain atrophic acne scars. It is a long-lasting product and is not treated like a reversible HA filler.

The source page requires a skin test four weeks before first treatment.

Bellafill contains permanent PMMA microspheres and requires careful patient selection.

Patient Feedback

Natural results are the theme

★★★★★

“I have had lip filler at three different places and this was by far the most natural result. She actually listened to what I wanted and did not just overfill me. My lips look like mine but better.”

Sophia R., El Segundo
★★★★★

“Did the Voluma for my cheeks. The difference is subtle but real. My face looks more lifted and my jawline looks sharper even though she only treated the cheeks. Really impressive technique.”

Lauren M., Manhattan Beach
★★★★★

“Got VOLUX for my jawline and chin. I am a guy and I was nervous it would look overdone. It looks completely natural, just more defined. Several people said I look like I lost weight.”

Ryan T., Hawthorne
Common Questions

Dermal filler FAQ

Your provider will give you area- and product-specific guidance after examining your anatomy.

How long do fillers last?
Results vary significantly from person to person. Factors like metabolism, lifestyle, the area treated, and how much product is used all play a role. Your provider will give you a realistic picture at your session based on your specific anatomy and the product being used. We do not quote specific timeframes because doing so sets expectations we cannot guarantee.
Does filler hurt?
Most filler products contain lidocaine, which reduces discomfort significantly during injection. Lips are the most sensitive area — topical numbing is applied before lip treatments. Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure and occasional pinching. Sessions are brief and most areas are complete in under 30 minutes.
Can filler be dissolved if I don't like the results?
Hyaluronic acid fillers — JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® — can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down HA. Radiesse® and Sculptra® cannot be dissolved. This is one reason precise placement by a skilled provider matters, and why we always recommend a conservative first approach.
What is the difference between filler and Botox?
Neurotoxins like BOTOX® relax muscles to reduce dynamic wrinkles caused by movement. Fillers add physical volume and structure to restore what has been lost or enhance what was never there. They address different problems and are often used together for a more complete result. Your provider will recommend the right combination based on your assessment.
How much filler will I need?
This depends entirely on your anatomy, goals, and the specific area. Lips typically require 0.5–1 syringe. Cheeks may need 1–2 syringes per side for meaningful restoration. Tear trough often requires 0.5 syringe per side. Jawline contouring varies significantly. Your provider will give you a realistic estimate at your session with written pricing before treatment begins.
Is there downtime after filler?
Most patients return to normal activity the same day. Swelling and mild tenderness for 24–72 hours is normal, particularly in the lips and under-eye area. Bruising is possible at any injection site and typically resolves within 5–10 days. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours and heavy sun exposure for the remainder of the day.
What is a liquid facelift?
A liquid facelift is a coordinated multi-area filler treatment that addresses multiple zones of volume loss and contour change in one session or series. Rather than treating one isolated area, your provider designs a comprehensive plan for cheeks, temples, jawline, chin, and midface that lifts and restores the face as a whole. Results are non-surgical with no downtime.
Do you offer financing?
Yes — Klarna, Affirm, CareCredit, and Cherry are all accepted at El Segundo. No clinic fees added to any financing plan.
