The Skin Works Approach

RF microneedling is only as good as the treatment plan.

Potenza is a flexible RF microneedling platform. That flexibility matters because acne scars, laxity, pores, fine lines and stretch marks are not the same problem. The provider can vary needle depth, tip configuration and radiofrequency settings by treatment zone instead of approaching every concern with one preset protocol.

01

Diagnose the concern first

Texture, tethered scars, enlarged-looking pores and laxity may need different depths or even different treatment modalities.

02

Customize by zone

Cheeks, under-eye, jawline, neck and body skin do not have identical thickness or risk profiles. Parameters should change accordingly.

03

Build results over time

RF microneedling relies on a healing and remodeling response. Improvement develops gradually rather than appearing as a finished result immediately after treatment.

04

Combination care when needed

Some acne scars and pigment concerns respond better when RF microneedling is one part of a broader plan rather than the only treatment used.

What Potenza Can Address

Skin concerns treated at El Segundo

Results depend on the concern, severity, skin characteristics and treatment plan. Not every scar or texture problem should be treated the same way.

Acne Scars

RF microneedling may improve selected atrophic acne scars by combining controlled needling with radiofrequency energy. Scar type, depth and tethering matter, and some scars need combination treatment.

Open & Enlarged Pores

Treatment can improve the appearance of enlarged pores as collagen remodeling and overall skin texture improve. Pores cannot literally be erased or permanently closed.

Skin Laxity & Sagging

Potenza may improve mild skin laxity and crepey texture on selected facial and body areas through controlled soft-tissue coagulation and remodeling.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

A series may soften the appearance of fine lines by stimulating remodeling at multiple depths. Deeper folds or movement-related lines may require other treatments.

Uneven Skin Texture

Useful for selected roughness, acne-related texture and early photoaging concerns. Improvement develops gradually rather than immediately after one session.

Stretch Marks

RF microneedling may improve the texture and appearance of selected stretch marks. Results vary with age, depth, color and location of the striae.

The Technology

How Potenza RF microneedling works

Potenza uses very fine needles to enter the skin while radiofrequency energy is delivered into targeted tissue. The system can operate in monopolar or bipolar RF modes and at 1 MHz or 2 MHz, giving the provider multiple ways to customize energy delivery.

Potenza offers insulated, semi-insulated and other tip configurations, with adjustable depths on selected needle arrays. The device is FDA-cleared for electrocoagulation and hemostasis of soft tissue in dermatologic and general surgical procedures.

Those device capabilities do not guarantee a particular cosmetic result. The provider is still responsible for deciding whether RF microneedling is appropriate and how it should be used.

Potenza vs. Standard Microneedling

What RF adds to microneedling

Both approaches use controlled needling. Potenza adds radiofrequency energy delivered through the needle system.

The Process

What to expect

The treatment itself is only one part of the process. Assessment, recovery and reassessment matter too.

01

Your Consultation

Your provider reviews your concerns, medical history, skin characteristics and goals, then decides whether Potenza is appropriate and which areas should be treated.

02

Treatment Day

Topical numbing is applied before treatment. Needle depth, RF mode, energy and tip selection are adjusted by zone rather than using one setting across the entire face or body.

03

Recovery

Redness and swelling are common after treatment. Some patients also experience dryness, pinpoint crusting or temporary sensitivity. Follow the aftercare plan and sun-protection instructions.

04

Results & Reassessment

Collagen remodeling develops gradually over the following weeks and months. Your provider reassesses response before the next session and adjusts the plan if needed.

Priya M., Manhattan Beach
★★★★★

“I have a deeper skin tone and was worried about discoloration. They explained exactly how it works and why it was safe for me. My tone stayed even and my texture improved a lot.”

Common Questions

Potenza RF microneedling FAQ

Your provider will give you treatment-specific guidance after evaluating your skin and goals.

Is Potenza painful?
Topical numbing is commonly used before treatment. Most patients still feel pressure, heat or brief pinching during RF microneedling, and comfort varies by area and treatment intensity.
How many sessions do I need?
The uploaded page recommends a series of about three sessions for many concerns, typically spaced several weeks apart. The actual plan depends on the concern, treatment intensity, skin response and whether other modalities are needed.
What is recovery like?
Temporary redness and mild swelling are common. Pinpoint crusting, sensitivity, dryness or temporary marks can also occur. Recovery varies by settings and treatment area, so follow the aftercare instructions given by your provider.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Cynosure markets Potenza for all skin types, and RF energy is not dependent on melanin in the same way as many light-based devices. That does not make every setting risk-free. Skin type, pigment history, recent sun exposure and treatment parameters still need clinical assessment.
How soon will I see results?
Some patients notice early changes in skin feel or appearance within weeks, but collagen remodeling develops gradually over the following months. Results and timing vary.
Can Potenza treat acne scars on deeper skin tones?
RF microneedling can be considered for selected patients with deeper skin tones, but scar type and pigment risk still matter. A provider should determine whether Potenza alone or a combination plan is more appropriate.
Can I combine Potenza with other treatments?
Yes, in some treatment plans. Timing with lasers, peels, injectables or other procedures should be individualized so the skin has adequate recovery time between treatments.
Do you offer financing?
Flexible payment options may be available. Approval, eligible services and promotional terms depend on the financing option selected, so confirm current terms with the team before treatment.
