Identify the lesion type
Skin tags, raised keratoses and pigmented moles are different lesions and should not be treated as one interchangeable category.
Plasma-based cosmetic removal for eligible skin tags and selected benign-appearing raised lesions at our El Segundo location. Skin tags are straightforward cosmetic concerns; pigmented moles require a more cautious assessment and may need dermatology evaluation instead of cosmetic treatment.
It is “Should this be removed cosmetically?” Skin tags are usually easy to recognize. Pigmented or mole-like lesions deserve more caution. Cosmetic treatment should never delay appropriate evaluation of a lesion that is new, changing, irregular, symptomatic or otherwise uncertain.
Skin tags, raised keratoses and pigmented moles are different lesions and should not be treated as one interchangeable category.
New, changing, asymmetric, irregularly bordered, multi-colored, itching or bleeding lesions should be evaluated by dermatology rather than cosmetically removed.
Plasma treatment may suit selected superficial cosmetic lesions. Lesions that need pathology or deeper excision require a different pathway.
Crusting, redness and temporary color change can occur. Do not pick at the treatment site and use the aftercare and sun-protection plan provided.
Final candidacy is determined at the visit. Some lesions belong with dermatology rather than an aesthetic procedure.
Small, soft, often pedunculated benign growths commonly found on the neck, underarms, torso and areas of friction. These are the most straightforward lesions in this service.
Stable, raised lesions may sometimes be considered for cosmetic treatment. Any uncertainty, concerning history or suspicious feature changes the plan to evaluation or referral rather than removal.
Some small superficial benign-appearing growths may be candidates depending on diagnosis, location, skin type and the clinician’s assessment. Not every raised lesion is appropriate for plasma treatment.
Pricing is straightforward once the clinician confirms the lesion type and that cosmetic treatment is appropriate.
For a small number of eligible skin tags treated during one visit. Topical numbing is included when appropriate.
For patients with a larger group of eligible skin tags who want multiple lesions addressed during one appointment.
For a selected stable, benign-appearing lesion that the clinician considers appropriate for cosmetic plasma treatment. Suspicious or uncertain lesions are referred instead.
A plasma device creates a controlled electrical arc at the treatment tip. For eligible superficial lesions, that energy can desiccate targeted tissue without a surgical incision or sutures.
The treated surface forms a small crust or dry healing area. The site should be allowed to heal naturally. Because energy is being delivered to skin, temporary redness, pigment change, textural change, burns or scarring are possible and should be discussed before treatment.
Assessment and candidacy come before the procedure itself.
The clinician reviews the lesion’s appearance and history. Anything concerning, uncertain or inappropriate for cosmetic removal is not treated and may be referred.
Topical numbing may be applied before plasma energy is delivered to the selected lesion. Session length depends on the number, size and location of lesions.
A small crust or dry surface may form. Keep the area clean, follow the provided aftercare, protect it from sun and allow the crust to release naturally.
Healing and cosmetic outcome vary. Some lesions may need additional treatment, while others may require a different approach if residual tissue remains.
“I had about seven skin tags on my neck that had been bothering me for years. They were gone in one session. The numbing cream worked well, the whole thing took maybe twenty minutes, and within two weeks you would never know they were there.”
Maria C., El Segundo“I had a raised mole on my cheek that I always felt self-conscious about in photos. The provider was very thorough — she assessed it carefully before agreeing to treat it. One session, healed cleanly. I genuinely cannot see where it was anymore.”
Daniel S., Manhattan Beach“Got the 5–10 skin tag package. Had nine tags in my underarms and on my neck. They were all gone after one visit. The little crusts were there for about a week and then gone. Quick, clean, worth every cent. Would not hesitate to go back.”

Topical numbing is commonly used before treatment. Patients may still feel warmth, brief stinging or tenderness, and sensitivity varies by lesion location and treatment intensity.
No cosmetic removal method can promise zero scarring. Plasma-based treatment does not require sutures, but temporary redness, crusting, pigment change, textural change or scarring can occur. Careful aftercare and sun protection are important.
Only lesions that the treating clinician considers appropriate for cosmetic treatment should proceed. New, changing, asymmetric, irregularly bordered, multi-colored, itching or bleeding lesions should be evaluated by dermatology rather than cosmetically removed.
Cosmetic plasma treatment does not provide tissue for pathology. If a lesion is uncertain or needs diagnostic evaluation, dermatology assessment and a removal method that permits pathology may be more appropriate.
A small crust or treated surface can remain for several days and sometimes longer depending on lesion size and depth. Do not pick at the area. Follow the clinic’s wound-care instructions and protect the site from sun exposure.
Yes, when the tags are appropriate for treatment and the provider confirms the count. Skin Works offers separate pricing for up to 5 and up to 10 skin tags in one session.
Possibly, but multiple pigmented lesions should be discussed before booking. Each lesion needs its own candidacy assessment, and some may require dermatology evaluation instead of cosmetic plasma treatment.
Flexible payment options may be available. Approval, eligible services and promotional terms depend on the financing option selected, so confirm current terms before treatment.

Medical disclaimer: Cosmetic lesion treatment does not diagnose skin cancer and does not replace dermatologic evaluation. New, changing, irregular, symptomatic or otherwise suspicious lesions should be evaluated by an appropriate clinician before cosmetic removal. Plasma treatment can cause redness, crusting, burns, pigment changes, textural changes, infection or scarring. Cosmetic plasma treatment does not produce a pathology specimen. Pricing and candidacy should be confirmed before treatment.
