JUVÉDERM Product Comparison
JUVÉDERM Voluma vs. Vollure vs. Volbella
These three JUVÉDERM fillers are all hyaluronic acid gels, but they are not interchangeable. Voluma is used for deeper structural volume, Vollure is approved for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and Volbella is designed for lips, perioral lines and under-eye hollows.
Choose by treatment area and anatomy, not by which name sounds strongest. Among these three, Voluma is FDA approved for cheeks, chin and temples; Vollure is approved for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds; and Volbella is approved for lip augmentation, perioral lines and under-eye hollows.
One important correction:
Vollure is not the JUVÉDERM product specifically approved for jawline definition. That role belongs to Volux XC.
The names can be confusing because all three products belong to the same JUVÉDERM family. The useful question is not “Which JUVÉDERM is best?” It is “Which product is designed for the area and type of correction I need?”

What Is JUVÉDERM Voluma XC Best Suited For?
Voluma XC is the structural product in this three-way comparison. Its current FDA-approved uses include the cheeks, chin and temples.
For the cheeks, Voluma can replace age-related midface volume and improve projection. For the chin, it can increase projection and improve profile balance. In the temples, it can restore volume where hollowing has become visible.
Its longest manufacturer-supported duration is in the cheeks, where results can last up to 2 years with optimal treatment. The supported duration is shorter in other areas, so the product does not have one universal lifespan.
For more detail, see our JUVÉDERM Voluma XC page.
What Is JUVÉDERM Vollure XC Best Suited For?
Vollure XC is FDA approved for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. The aim is to soften a deeper fold while allowing the face to keep moving naturally.
Manufacturer data support results lasting up to 18 months with optimal treatment.
For its labeled use and current Skin Works information, see the JUVÉDERM Vollure XC page.
What Is JUVÉDERM Volbella XC Best Suited For?
Volbella XC is the most precision-focused of these three options. It is FDA approved for lip augmentation and correction of perioral lines. It is also approved for improvement of under-eye hollows in adults over 21.
In the lips, the goal is often subtle shape, border refinement and smoothing rather than heavy projection. Under the eyes, patient selection matters because puffiness, fluid tendency and anatomy can affect whether filler is appropriate at all.
Clinical data support results lasting up to 1 year with optimal treatment.

Which One Lasts the Longest?
If you look only at the longest labeled duration, Voluma XC in the cheeks has the longest figure among these three: up to 2 years with optimal treatment.
That does not make Voluma the right choice for every area. A filler should not be placed somewhere simply because another indication for that same product lasts longer. Anatomy, tissue depth, movement and approved use matter more than chasing the longest number.
For a full duration breakdown, see How Long Does JUVÉDERM Last?
Do These Fillers Look or Feel Different?
They can. JUVÉDERM products differ in gel properties and are designed for different tissue depths and goals. A product used to create cheek or chin structure has different demands than one used to refine lip lines or under-eye hollows.
Product choice is only one part of the result. Placement depth, amount injected, facial anatomy and injector technique strongly affect how natural the final result looks and feels.
Who May Be a Good Candidate?
A good candidate is generally an adult seeking correction in an approved treatment area who has realistic expectations and no active infection at the planned injection site.
JUVÉDERM labeling lists important contraindications, including a history of severe allergies or anaphylaxis, multiple severe allergies, or allergy to lidocaine or certain bacterial proteins used in the products.
Under-eye treatment deserves special caution. Hollowness may improve with filler, while prominent eye bags, fluid retention or laxity can make filler a poor choice. A good consultation may end with a recommendation not to inject.
What Are the Main Risks?
Common short-term effects include swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness and temporary lumps or firmness.
The most serious risk with dermal filler is accidental injection into a blood vessel. The FDA warns that vascular occlusion can cause tissue death, vision problems including blindness, or stroke.
These symptoms should not be treated as routine swelling or bruising.
How Much Do Voluma, Vollure and Volbella Cost at Skin Works?
As of September 2026, Skin Works lists standard Torrance pricing at $880 for Voluma XC, $750 for Vollure XC and $750 for Volbella XC per syringe.
The total treatment cost depends on how many syringes are appropriate. Cheek or full-face structural treatment may require more product than subtle lip-line correction. A lower per-syringe price does not automatically mean a lower total treatment cost.
For the complete filler menu and current pricing, see our dermal filler treatment page.
What If None of These Three Is the Best Match?
That is common. JUVÉDERM also includes Ultra XC, Ultra Plus XC and Volux XC, and Skin Works carries other HA fillers plus non-HA options.
If you are comparing brands rather than products within JUVÉDERM, our JUVÉDERM vs. Restylane guide explains the broader differences.
The goal should be to match the filler to the tissue and treatment objective, not to force every concern into one brand family.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Voluma or Vollure better for cheeks?
Voluma XC is FDA approved for cheek augmentation to correct age-related midface volume loss. Vollure XC is approved for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
Is Volbella or Vollure better for lips?
Volbella XC is FDA approved for lip augmentation and perioral lines. Vollure XC is not FDA approved specifically for lip augmentation. JUVÉDERM Ultra XC is another FDA-approved JUVÉDERM lip filler.
Which JUVÉDERM is used for under-eye hollows?
Volbella XC is FDA approved for improvement of infraorbital hollowing in adults over 21. Not every under-eye hollow is a good filler candidate, so anatomy matters.
Which JUVÉDERM is used for jawline definition?
Volux XC is the JUVÉDERM product FDA approved for improvement of moderate to severe loss of jawline definition. Voluma, Vollure and Volbella have different approved uses.
Which lasts longer, Voluma or Vollure?
Voluma XC can last up to 2 years in the cheeks with optimal treatment, while Vollure XC can last up to 18 months in facial wrinkles and folds. These figures apply to different treatment areas, so they are not a head-to-head durability test.
Can these fillers be dissolved?
They are hyaluronic acid fillers, so hyaluronidase can be used to break them down when medically appropriate. Dissolving is itself a medical treatment and may require more than one session.
Can more than one JUVÉDERM product be used in the same treatment plan?
Yes. Different areas may need different products. A full-face plan may combine a structural product for the midface with a different filler for lips, folds or under-eye hollows when appropriate.
